My Experience Training with Adriano MoraesIn the world of combat sports, there's nothing quite like the opportunity to train with a famous fighter, let alone a CHAMPION Fighter! It's a chance to learn from the best, experience their skill firsthand, and gain valuable insights into the world of martial arts. Recently, I had the incredible fortune of training with a legendary fighter at my gym, and it was an experience that left a lasting impact on me. But before I delve into the details, let me share a little about my unique circumstances. My JourneyOne might wonder, what makes my journey to this point so extraordinary? Well, it's because I have prosthetic eyes. Due to a medical condition, I had to have prosthetic eyes made in Germany. While one of my eyes is a prosthetic, the other is my natural color. This physical difference has never stopped me from pursuing my passion for combat sports, but it does require me to wear protective goggles during training. Over the years I have become accustomed to this as I train & teach Muay Thai & Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. The Day ArrivesOn the day of the training session, anticipation ran high as I prepared to meet this renowned fighter. The entire gym was abuzz with excitement, and the energy in the air was palpable. Little did I know that I was about to embark on an unforgettable journey that would test my skills, resilience, and leave me in awe. I was going to be training with ONE Championship Champion Fighter, Adrian Moraes. Training with a LegendAs I stepped onto the mats, I couldn't help but feel a mix of nerves and excitement. The fighter, Adriano, commanded the room with his presence. The training began, and it quickly became evident why Adriano had achieved legendary status. His movements were precise, calculated, and filled with years of grappling expertise. Despite being a heavyweight, I realized that size alone wouldn't guarantee success against someone like Adriano. His technique, positioning, and timing were impeccable. He effortlessly maneuvered himself into advantageous positions, displaying a level of mastery that was both inspiring and humbling. An Intense EncounterDuring the training, Adriano executed a rear naked choke that left me astounded. Most opponents struggle to secure a proper grip for such a submission, but Adriano effortlessly applied it with just one hand. It was a testament to his strength, skill, and the countless hours he had dedicated to his craft. However, what struck me most about Adriano was his humility and gentleness. Despite his ability to overpower me effortlessly, he took great care to ensure my safety throughout the training session. It was a unique blend of power and compassion that I hadn't anticipated, and it made the experience all the more special. Lessons Learned and GratitudeThe training session ended, and I found myself reflecting on the incredible opportunity I had just been given. Training with Adriano not only taught me valuable technical skills but also offered profound life lessons. I learned the importance of discipline, humility, and perseverance in the face of adversity. I am immensely grateful for the chance to train with a world champion like Adriano. His expertise and willingness to share his knowledge with others, including children, is a testament to his character and dedication to martial arts. Looking AheadAs my exhilarating experience came to a close, I couldn't help but feel a sense of fulfillment and gratitude. The following day, a seminar was scheduled with Adriano, and I was excited to witness more of his expertise and share my experience with other attendees. Training with a famous fighter like Adriano was a dream come true. It reminded me that in the world of martial arts, true greatness extends beyond physical prowess. It encompasses humility, respect, and a genuine desire to inspire others. This experience has motivated me to continue pushing my limits, to strive for excellence, and to make a positive impact on those around me.
