Rad Muay Thai & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Aurora, Colorado

You don't have to be a fighter to train like one!

Before class: Register online, sign waivers, and arrive 10–15 minutes early so we can check your ID, show you around, and answer any questions.

During class:

  • Muay Thai: Line up by rank and height (new students in the back). Kru Rad bows everyone in, leads warm-ups, and runs class. We finish with a short discussion and bow-out.
  • Cardio Kickboxing: More casual—gather on the mat for warm-up. No gear needed on your first day; we’ll let you know when to grab gloves or wraps.
  • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Line up against the back wall. Professor Rad teaches from the front, then students partner up for drills and rolls.

Relax, go at your own pace, and enjoy—it’s all about learning and having fun!

No need to bring anything for your free trial—loaner gear is available.

Once you’re training regularly, here’s what you’ll need:

  • Muay Thai: Hand wraps, 14–16 oz gloves, shin guards (optional for beginners), athletic shorts/leggings.
  • Cardio Kickboxing: Comfortable workout clothes; gloves and wraps may be useful later.
  • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu:
    • No-Gi: rash guard and shorts/leggings (no pockets/zippers).
    • Gi: Gi and belt.

Our RMT Pro Shop carries all required gear if you’d like to purchase it here.

No long-term contracts required! We offer flexibility with pay-as-you-go options or unlimited memberships. A waiver must be signed before training.

Not at all! Many students train purely for fitness, skill development, and fun. If competing is your goal, we’ll guide you—but it’s 100% optional.

We offer Muay Thai, BJJ, Cardio Kickboxing, and fitness classes throughout the week. Click here to view our current class schedule.

Yes! We provide one-on-one and small group training for both members and non-members. Training can focus on Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, strength, conditioning, weight loss, or endurance.

Absolutely not! Martial arts training benefits all ages by improving fitness, coordination, flexibility, and mental well-being. Our community welcomes adults of every experience level.

Yes! Muay Thai training is a fun, high-intensity workout that burns calories and builds muscle. Paired with good nutrition and rest, it’s an excellent way to achieve weight loss and fitness goals.

No one is ever required to spar. Beginners can build skills through drills and pad work first. If you decide to spar later, we’ll introduce you gradually with light technical sparring.

RAD Muay Thai is a welcoming martial arts and fitness studio in Aurora, CO. We offer Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Cardio Kickboxing, plus strength & conditioning. Our mission is to create a community where students of all ages and levels can learn, grow, and achieve their goals.

Both are amazing! Muay Thai focuses on striking (punches, kicks, knees, elbows), while BJJ is all about ground fighting and submissions. Many students choose one to start, then add the other for a well-rounded skill set.

What is rad muay thai?
RAD Muay Thai & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial arts fitness studio for men, women, and children (ages 5 and up), offering classes for ALL fitness levels.

Our goal is to help you improve your health, fitness, and discipline through the technical learning of Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

💪 Fighters are among the fittest athletes in the world—but you don’t have to be a fighter to train like one!

Should i train muay thai or brazilian jiu jitsu?
Both Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) offer unique benefits, and training both can provide a well-rounded martial arts experience. Here’s a breakdown:

Muay Thai🥊 A stand-up striking art from Thailand, known as the "Art of Eight Limbs" (fists, elbows, knees, and shins).
💪 Improves cardiovascular endurance, coordination, and striking power.

⚖️ Focuses on footwork, balance, and body positioning for effective stand-up fighting, often used in MMA.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)🤼‍♂️ A ground-fighting martial art that focuses on submissions, leverage, and control.
💪 Builds strength, flexibility, and body awareness.

🛡️ Teaches how to defend against larger opponents using technique, making it highly effective for self-defense.

Why Train Both? The combination of Muay Thai and BJJ makes you a more well-rounded fighter. While Muay Thai excels in striking, BJJ focuses on ground control and submissions. Together, they prepare you for any situation, whether standing or on the ground.

Training both will also boost your mental discipline, self-confidence, and overall well-being—helping you relieve stress and gain clarity.

If you’re looking to enhance both your physical and mental capabilities, we highly recommend trying both Muay Thai and BJJ!

Come try each class for free, register here for your first class.

✅ Stress Relief – Training is a great way to release stress and boost mental well-being through physical exertion and focus.

Whether your goal is self-defense, fitness, competition, or personal growth, Muay Thai and BJJ are excellent choices for women. Come try a class and experience the benefits for yourself!
What is the difference between muay thai and cardio kickboxing?
While both Muay Thai and Cardio Kickboxing involve punches and kicks, they have distinct differences in purpose and training style.

Cardio Kickboxing🥊 A high-intensity workout combining kickboxing movements with aerobics and dance.
🏋️‍♂️ Focuses on fitness, endurance, and calorie burning rather than self-defense.
👥 Typically done in a group fitness setting with no sparring.
⏳ Class length: 30 minutes

Muay Thai🇹🇭 A traditional combat sport from Thailand, known as the "Art of Eight Limbs."
🦵 Uses fists, elbows, knees, and shins for striking.
🥊 Focuses on self-defense, technique, and competition training.
🤼 Includes drills, pad work, sparring, and conditioning.
⏳ Class length: 1 hour

Cardio Kickboxing is a fitness-based workout, while Muay Thai is a martial art and combat sport designed for self-defense and competition.

If you’re looking for a fun, sweat-inducing workout, Cardio Kickboxing is a great option. If you want to learn real striking techniques and develop martial arts skills, Muay Thai is the way to go!

Meet Krufessor Rad (a blend of KRU + PROFESSOR), owner of Rad Muay Thai, established in 2014.

Rad is a seasoned fitness expert with over a decade of experience in the industry. His journey into the realm of martial arts unfolded during his days as a bodybuilder and triathlete. Intrigued by the unparalleled physical conditioning and skill demonstrated by combat sports athletes, Rad made the bold transition to Mixed Martial Arts to elevate his training regimen.

In 2007, Rad faced a formidable challenge when he temporarily lost his vision due to Keratoconus, a serious eye condition. A successful corneal transplant restored his sight, but it redirected his focus from striking competitions to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Undeterred, Rad achieved remarkable success, securing over 10 divisional titles in Colorado, including 2 Absolute titles. Notably, he clinched the Super Heavyweight absolute title in Oklahoma as a purple belt.

Guided by Professor Henry Matamoros, Rad attained his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a significant milestone in his martial arts journey. Eager to expand his knowledge, Rad immersed himself in Muay Thai, dedicating years to training with a formidable team at American Top Team Altitude in Aurora, Colorado, where he also served as an instructor.

Throughout his journey, Rad had the privilege of training with Master Hung D. Tran, the esteemed president and founder of the Tran Muay Thai Association in Colorado. Now a Kru level instructor under Master Tran and the TMTA, Rad also gained valuable experience by training in Thailand.

Adopting a functional training approach, Rad designs strength and conditioning classes with a focus on overall fitness and athletic performance optimization. His philosophy emphasizes efficiency and eliminates unnecessary movements, empowering students to move effectively in any situation. Rad, a firm believer in the effectiveness of kettlebells, holds Level 1 and Level 2 KFIT Kettlebell certifications, along with being a certified boxing instructor. His expertise attracts MMA, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai fighters seeking to refine their skills.

Beyond the arena, Rad's true passion lies in guiding students toward holistic self-improvement. At RMT, he cultivates an inclusive environment where individuals from diverse backgrounds can train like professional fighters, reaping the benefits of martial arts to enhance their overall well-being, both mentally and physically."
